The tension escalates dramatically in the second episode of season 37 of Les Mystères de l’amour, aired on August 17, 2025 on TMC. What begins as a frightening kidnapping story soon spirals into a complex chain of secrets, desperate choices, and emotional revelations. At the center of it all is Fanny, who finds herself trapped in a situation that no one around her suspects — while her loved ones unknowingly continue their lives, believing everything is perfectly normal.

When the episode opens, Fanny has already been abducted. Hidden away and restrained inside a garage, she is completely cut off from the outside world. Even more alarming, none of her closest friends have any idea that she is in danger. The disappearance goes unnoticed at first, partly because the day had originally been planned differently.

Sophie and Mégane were supposed to spend a relaxing girls’ day with Fanny. When she fails to appear, the two friends simply decide to stay together and enjoy their time anyway, assuming that something harmless must have come up.

Meanwhile, far from the chaos unfolding around Fanny, Christian is in Lille preparing for a concert with Hélène and the rest of the group. But despite the excitement surrounding the performance, he cannot shake a growing sense of concern. Fanny isn’t answering his calls, and the silence begins to trouble him.

Étienne tries to reassure him and decides to contact Mégane, thinking that Fanny must be spending time with her. However, when Mégane sees Étienne’s name appear on her phone, panic immediately sets in. She realizes that if Étienne is calling, Christian is probably nearby — and that could lead to uncomfortable questions.

Trying to remain calm, Mégane answers the call and quickly improvises an explanation. She claims that Fanny is currently enjoying a massage and therefore cannot come to the phone. After hanging up, she hopes the story sounded believable enough to avoid suspicion.

As she and Sophie discuss the situation, another theory emerges. Sophie begins to wonder if Fanny might actually be with Adrien, taking advantage of Christian’s absence to spend some private time with the charming zoologist. The two women laugh about the possibility, convinced that their friend is simply enjoying a romantic moment.

But the truth is far darker.

At that very moment, Fanny is still locked inside the garage, tied up and under the watch of Boris and his sister Gladys. The two siblings had kidnapped her as part of a desperate plan to obtain ransom money. However, the situation begins to shift in an unexpected direction.

Gladys eventually enters the garage carrying blankets and some clothing for Fanny. Unlike her brother, she appears uneasy about the entire situation. Fanny seizes the opportunity to start a conversation with her, attempting to reason with her captor and question the plan involving the 100,000-euro ransom demand.

During their exchange, the discussion takes a surprising turn. Gladys mentions Adrien and reveals that she shares his love for animals. The conversation humanizes her in a way that Fanny had not expected.

Then suddenly, everything changes.

Later, Gladys bursts into the garage in tears. Completely overwhelmed, she begs Fanny for help. In a shocking twist, Boris — the very man who orchestrated the kidnapping — has himself been kidnapped by a group of criminals.

The situation instantly becomes chaotic. The captor has now become a victim.

Gladys insists that she never wanted to participate in the abduction in the first place. She explains that she had opposed the idea but felt trapped by her brother’s desperation. Now that Boris has disappeared, she has no one else to turn to.

At this point, Fanny is still handcuffed because Boris had taken the key with him before being abducted. Eventually, she manages to free herself and immediately questions Gladys about why she doesn’t simply call the police.

Gladys refuses. The reason soon becomes clear.

She explains that Boris had previously committed a burglary. If the police become involved and discover his past actions, he could end up in prison. For Gladys, involving law enforcement feels like condemning her brother.

But the most heartbreaking revelation is yet to come.

Gladys finally confesses that Boris is seriously ill. He suffers from lymphoma, a form of cancer. Without the financial resources necessary for treatment, he had become increasingly desperate. According to Gladys, Boris had sacrificed everything for her and was willing to risk anything to ensure she would be safe.

The kidnapping, as terrible as it was, had been born from fear, illness, and financial desperation.

Faced with this tragic confession, Fanny makes a remarkable decision. Instead of focusing on revenge or anger, she chooses compassion. She agrees to help Gladys find Boris — but under one condition. If they succeed in rescuing him, he must agree to seek proper medical treatment.

While this unlikely alliance begins to form, the outside world is finally starting to catch up with the truth.

Sophie unexpectedly receives a phone call from Fanny. Shocked, she learns that her friend had actually been kidnapped the entire time. She immediately informs Mégane, and the two women rush to find her.

When they finally reunite, relief quickly mixes with surprise. Sophie and Mégane notice something about Fanny that they hadn’t realized before — she is pregnant.

Fanny confirms the news. She had originally planned to share the announcement during their planned girls’ day, but the kidnapping destroyed those plans.

After revealing the pregnancy, Fanny explains the bizarre situation they are now dealing with. Boris, the man who abducted her, has been taken by criminals. Gladys then admits that Boris had stolen a briefcase from a group of drug dealers — and those criminals are the ones who kidnapped him in retaliation.

Inside the garage, Sophie eventually finds the mysterious briefcase. When she opens it, the truth becomes obvious: it contains multiple packets of drugs.

The danger surrounding them suddenly feels much more real.

Rather than running away from the problem, Fanny proposes a bold and risky plan. They could use the briefcase to lure the dealers into a trap and rescue Boris.

Sophie suggests bringing in Adrien for help. Unlike most of their friends, he isn’t currently in Lille and therefore might be able to assist without attracting suspicion.

Fanny agrees with the idea and decides she will contact him the following morning.

For now, the group leaves the garage and returns home together — Fanny, Sophie, Mégane, and Gladys — determined to figure out their next move.

What began as a terrifying kidnapping has now transformed into something even more complicated: a dangerous mission involving criminals, drugs, hidden illnesses, and fragile alliances.
